Software Updating- this is where software of an organisation is updated in order to keep data protected, and keep the system of the organisation secure, this is because software updating tends to have the most up to date protection mechanisms, to protect data, this is because when software, is first released there is always some sort of glitch/whole in it, this can jeopardize the security of the data, hence why software updating is important, as they often contain the patch/fix for the glitches, HSBC would use software updating so that there isn’t any weak point within software/system that cyber criminals can exploit, because if they do not they face having data stolen and also having the system go down because viruses can easily attack old outdated software. Another reason why HSBC would update software is because of the new features included in updates of software.
